We need to let you know that the 50th Anniversary Ball is sold out. There may be a waiting list for any cancellations (but I don’t know).
The 2015-2016 dancing season will start on Wednesday, September 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Mackenzie Hall. This is also the time to renew your membership (Miriam Wright sent an e-mail a few days ago with a breakdown of the fee structure. Or check Membership on this website).
If you haven’t done so already, go to Events and check out the 2016 Ball programme — You can print out the ticket order form, too.
There is now a link (in Coming Events) to a form that can be printed out to order tickets to our Annual Ball that will celebrate 50 years of dancing in Windsor.
I’ve posted the briefs for the 50th Anniversary Ball in Coming Events (many thanks to Heidi Jacobs!) There is also a link to a one-page dance programme with just the names of the dances, for those who need no more.
Because of several people having problems with the date, and also because of poor weather forecasted for the weekend of July 12, the Garden Party has been rescheduled for Sunday, July 26.
Same time (arrival after 2 p.m. for dinner at 5), same place (333 Askin, Windsor). Bring cutlery, a lawn chair, your tipple of choice, and a side dish or dessert to share. Julian will be barbecuing meats as usual.
The latest issue of the RSCDS Newsletter brought a link to an animated video on the history of Scottish dance, “Controlled abandon”, prepared for the BBC Scotland. It’s worth another look — click here.
